The Center of Research for Peace is a research center of education and debate oriented toward analysis of peace.
The Center of Research for Peace (CRP) was created in 1998 by the Catholic University of Paris within the Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences
The Research
The CRP oversees academic scientific work based on the following themes :
Concepts, theories and practices of peace ;
Role of the Catholic Church in the construction of world peace ;
Sociology of conflict, new threats to peace, reflection on the prevention and resolution of conflict ;
Analysis of questions regarding security and defense, international relations, geopolitics ;
Reflection on a culture of peace : human rights, solidarity, intercultural dialogue, interdenominational dialogue, citizenship ;
Sustainable development, new lifestyles, new environmental trends ;
Globalization and the economics of peace.
The Education
The CRP is a founding member of the University of Peace which brings together research centers specializing in issues related to building world peace. In this perspective, the CRP also fulfills a function of university-level education - at the DEA, Graduate and Doctorial level - in close relation with the Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences at the Catholic Institute of Paris.
The Debate
In collaboration with Non-Governmental Organizations, Foundations, International Institutions, et cetera, the CRP organizes and conducts meetings, seminars, conferences, lectures, et cetera, destined to offer a realm of assembly, dialogue, reflection and debate for people working on the topic of building peace : political leaders, economic decision-makers, activists, specialists, et cetera.
