The Irenees non-profit institution was conceived and instituted thanks to the volition and support of the Charles Léopold Mayer Foundation for the Progress of Humankind. It pursues a precise objective : to be an administrative tool at the service of the implementation of the Irenees Initiative.
Irenees, Non-Profit Institution
Created in fall, 2002, IRENEES, Institute of Resources for Peace, is the result of a long journey taken by the Charles Léopold Mayer Foundation for the Rights of Humankind <www.fph.ch> and its partners on the road to the construction of peace and, at the same time, is also an innovative response to the stakes and challenges presented by current conflicts.
The Institute for Resources on Peace is also the fruit of the participation of various Artisans of Peace in the <Irenees.net> website of Resources for Peace.
IRENEES is a non-profit organization registered in Paris in February 2003.
IRENEES : an Alliance of Artisans of Peace
The diversity of actors of peace who participate in the Irenees initiative has permitted some very different people to communicate and to understand that they often share common values and that they are pursuing converging goals.
The Institute of Resources for Peace is, in this way, the fruit of an intercultural, multipolar, and converging dynamic giving way to the constitution of an « Alliance of Artisans Peace », composed by members who :

IRENEES : an Institute of Resources for Peace
IRENEES, Institute of Resources for Peace, reunites actors – people and organizations – that, working in the heart of current conflicts, are searching for a profound renewal of ways to conceive and construct peace.
The members of the Institute elaborate resources – methods, tools, analyses – in order to support numerous Artisans of Peace in their initiatives for rethinking peace and proposing new modes of action.
The Institute supports the organization of workshops whose goals are to assist in comprehending peace and elaborating propositions. The diversity of its partners, and of their approaches and experiences, favor a transversal and convergent environment. This dynamic comes to enrich the elaboration of international expertise at the service of the joint construction of an Art of Peace.

A true space for exchange and reflection, <Irenees.net> proposes more than 50 dossiers on the major challenges to peace today and counts thousands of visitors per month : it is a reference not only for the actors of peace who work in the field, but also for analytical specialists of conflict management and peace-building.

Of an identification of the important issues for peace via personal encounters, dialogue, and mutual enrichment of knowledge and experience.

Reliable, alternative, innovative, the <irenees.net> website, developed as a citizen movement, thus freely and openly available to all, supports the joint development of an innovative approach to peace oriented towards the identification of the challenges and the expansion of propositions for peace.
